3rd Annual TJ's Tin Cup Golf Tourney Announced

Mark your calendars for June 22nd for the 3rd annual TJ's Tin Cup charity golf tournament. This years tournament will be held at Two Rivers Golf Course in Dakota Dunes, SD. Registration is now open for individuals and teams. Only $75 per player includes 18 holes of golf, custom fitted golf glove courtesy of Quality Tri-View Communications, official foundation dri-fit shirt, several prize entries, and the dinner banquet. Ames American Legion #37 NASCAR Party Benefits Foundation

Over $2600 was raised at the American Legion #37 NASCAR party in Ames, IA held on April 27, 2013. The annual event held by the American Legion Post 37 chose the TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation as the recipient beneficiary for the past two years. The events have raised over $6500 total for the foundation.

Lincoln Squirts win 2nd Annual TJ's Cup

The 2nd annual TJ's Cup Squirt hockey tournament was held in Sioux Falls March 2-3. Teams that participated were: Lincoln, Sioux City, Sioux Falls Orange, Sioux Falls Blue, Mitchell, Omaha, Luverne and St. Peter/LeSeuer. Lincoln won the tournament beating Sioux City 3-2. More than $2000 was raised for the foundation which will put that back to good use by promoting learn to skate events for kids ages 4-10 in the Sioux Falls area.

3rd Annual TJ's Memorial Cup Adult Hockey Tourney

Sunday December 23rd the IBP Ice Center will host the third annual Memorial Cup adult hockey tournament. The "Lobster" style tourney is open to the first 60 skaters and registration will fill up quickly! Advanced registration and the team schedules are available by clicking here.

Free Learn to Skate Signup with Siouxland Youth Hockey

Once again the TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation is covering the registration fee for new first year skaters ages 4-8 who wish to play ice hockey in the Siouxland Youth Hockey Association. All boys and girls are welcome to free "Learn to Skate" sessions sponsored by the foundation beginning on September 9th. Siouxland Youth Hockey registration for new skaters is also September 9th between 4 PM - 6 PM. 2nd Annual TJ's Tin Cup Golf Tourney Scheduled

Whispering Creek will be home again for the 2nd annual TJ's Tin Cup Golf Tourney scheduled for June 2nd, 2012. The 1PM shotgun start will certainly fill up quickly as it did last year so reserve your spot today. $75 per player in advance / $85 day off. Try Hockey For Free in Sioux City February 18th

It's that time again this year to invite boys and girls of Siouxland to register for the Try Hockey For Free skating event to be held at the IBP Ice Center February 18th. The event is open to boys and girls ages 4-9 years old. Any type of helmet and gloves are needed to attend. Skates are provided. To register, visit www.SiouxCityHockey.com

Sioux Falls Bantams to Host TJ Tourney

The Sioux Falls Bantam A Travel team will be hosting a tournament in Sioux Falls the weekend of Feb 24-26th. Organizers are calling the tournament the TJ Cup in honor of our former Midwest Varsity Coach and Director of Coaches, TJ Reinsch, who passed away 2 summers ago from an autoimmune disease. The teams playing in the first annual tournament are The Sioux Falls Flyers Bantam A Blue, Luverne Cardinals Bantam A, Devils Lake Bantam A and Omaha Jr. Lancer Bantam AA. These games will be the only home games the Sioux Falls team will play all year. The prime time game will be Saturday, February 25, at 8:00 pm when the Flyers play the Omaha Jr. Lancers at the Expo. The Jr. Lancers also have a Sioux Falls connection. Jamison Westaby will be coming back home to play against his old team. The Flyers played the Jr. Lancers earlier this year and lost in a close game 2 - 1. Come out and support the our Flyer Bantam Team.

2nd Annual Memorial Cup Adult Tourney Success

Nearly 60 skaters attended the 2nd annual memorial cup in Sioux City at the IBP Ice Center. What has become a very popular event, 12 teams took part in games being played all day. The tournament was sponsored by Kevin O'Dell Electric and American Family Insurance. The funds raised from this event will be used to sponsor the Try Hockey For Free events February 18th in Sioux City.

NHL Players Association Awards Equipment

The TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation has been awarded 15 complete sets of youth hockey equipment from the National Hockey League's Players Association "Goals and Dreams" fund. Chairman of the Goals & Dreams fund, Devin Smith, commented on the success of the program. “Over the last 11 years, NHL players have donated more than $19 million to fund and assist grassroots hockey programs around the world. We’ve sent equipment everywhere from Australia to South Africa, Europe, Malaysia and North America. The biggest obstacle in participating in hockey is the cost of equipment. Our goal is to bridge that gap for less fortunate children”. TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation Vice-President, Burke Lake, says the equipment will be used as loaner equipment for first year skaters to help offset the initial costs of starting youth hockey, as well as, kids who participate in the foundation "Learn to Skate" events that they host throughout the year.

Learn to Skate program planned for Sioux City

The TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation is sponsoring a 3-week learn to skate program free of charge to any boy or girl, ages 4-10 years old. Beginning Sept. 11, each participant will receive skating instructions that beginners need to make ice skating more enjoyable. Each 1 hour session follows the USA Hockey curriculum for new skaters. Participants also receive a $50 voucher towards the cost of registration fees to Siouxland Youth Hockey. This program is open to the first 80 kids who register and who have never been registered with Siouxland Youth Hockey in the past. To register, send an email with each child's name and age to dirk@iw.net. Registration deadline has been extended through Sept.11, 2011.

Sioux Falls Golf Tourney Scheduled for August 20th

The TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation and the South Dakota U14 and U16 national teams will be the beneficiaries of the 2011 Attic Open Golf Tournament. The Sioux Falls event will be held at the Spring Creek Golf Course. This 4-man scramble is sure to be a great time for all. For more info click here.

TJ's Tin Cup Golf Tourney Draws Over 100 Golfers

More than 100 golfers teamed up to participate in the first annual TJ's Tin Cup Golf Tourney held on May 21st. Whispering Creek golf course hosted the tourney in Sioux City. Foursomes from throughout the Midwest competed for dozens of prizes and the championship cup, and enjoyed a catered dinner and silent auction following the tournament. Tournament title sponsor, Kevin O'Dell Electric, and dozens of other Siouxland businesses helped to make this primary fundraising event a huge success for the foundation raising over $10,000. This year's tourney was co-hosted by the Siouxland Youth Hockey Association and the proceeds will assist in promoting new skaters into the youth hockey program.

Ames American Legion Post 37 Fundraiser Raises $3800

Over 300 people attended the 3rd annual American Legion Post 37 NASCAR party held Saturday April, 30th in Ames Iowa. The TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation has been selected as the fundraiser beneficiary for 2011. Gift bags were given to the first 200 people, and dozens of silent auction items, and more than 100 prizes were raffled. Special guest, Iowa Lt. Governor, Kim Reynolds was in attendance and gave a special salute to legion members for their service to our country and recognized the TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation for strengthening youth hockey in Iowa. A special thank you to organizer's Kathy and Sarah who started the work for their annual fundraiser over 3 months ago. For more information about American Legion Post 37 click here.

Try Hockey for Free event held for kids

The IBP Ice Center was home to 90 kids who registered for the "Try Hockey for Free" event sponsored by the TJ Reinsch Youth Hockey Foundation on February 19th. USA Hockey certified coaches volunteered to assist kids ages 4-9 in learning to skate, hold a hockey stick, and shoot a puck. The kids experienced hockey drills designed to help teach the basics of skating and becoming a hockey player. Click here to see more photos.

TJ Reinsch Memorial Cup raises $1500

More than 40 players and 200 hockey fans turned out for the 1st annual TJ Memorial Cup Adult Hockey Tournament held at the IBP Ice Center December 26th. Players from around Siouxland and as far away as Des Moines, Lincoln, and Omaha participated in a this uniquely formatted tournament. The tournament was sponsored by Joe Morton Insurance, American Family Insurance, Chesterman's Bottling, and Lewis Bowl. The foundation was able to raise $1500 from this event and will help to conduct "learn to skate" lessons to kids between the ages of 4-10 years old and play youth hockey in Sioux City. Memorial banner unveiled

Wednesday November 17th, 2010 the TJ Reinsch Memorial Banner was unveiled at the IBP Ice Center during the Sioux City Metros vs. Sioux Falls Flyers high school hockey game.
